Anthropologists would argue that there are and have been matrifocal cultures in the world. The Hopi Indians is the first example that comes to mind. Bonobo apes is another.
I'm extremely dubious of the scholarship that's been done on pre-historic matriarchal cultures.
And I agree that the last 6,000 years of recorded history has been dominated by patriarchal societies.
Where do we go from here? Does that mean society will ALWAYS be patriarchal, because, as you seem to argue, testosterone gives males the aggressive edge to dominate and control?
