And you are right, to be a Christian is believing the Bible is the Word of God and it's a big step.
But don't think you have stop learning just because you are a Christian. I love to read (and even ejoyed Harry Potter for light entertainment)
I also know that it's true that many things hold some form of truth. It is a very personal decision to decide to put your faith in a book that is so old and maybe have been mistranslanted, misinterperted etc...
I read a fancinating Triology by Zindell, and it's so interesting to see how math can be spiritual too. I think the problem being is that if you think just because you love science it has to somehow make war on God. I don't see it that way.
I think see how they meet makes pretty fascinating study.
