Hey, do you recall the Mo Letter "Lost Horizon Found" where Berg got the inspiration that the F. was the "utopia" where everyone stays young and has a blessed life? Remember that young lady who hungered for the world and decided to leave, only to find out to everyone's horror that she was really an old woman and she died. Well, that vision always stayed with me because this is what was supposed to happen to those who dare to leave the sanctuary of the F. Well, I've never been happier in my life and I just kick myself in the butt sometimes thinking that I wasted so much of my prime. But, I have to just go on and now I feel like I'm really alive and I just love reading books and articles from other Christians. I love being free to analyze doctrines for myself and discussing things and not being afraid of having "doubts" about something. Hey, MG, thanks for the link to the website with the list of acronyms. I really ROTFWL when I read James say that the antichrist is not really interested in the Family as a "threat to his kingdom"! Ha!!!! The F. is it's own enemy and the only so-called enemy are just people trying to get justice... not the anti-christ. When I read how our leaders were so into their secrecy and how much money they spent on it... I was really angered. Not to mention the illegal things done to keep our prophet (and his mistress) hidden from the law. I strongly believe that the F. will NEVER be a finacial power as was prophecied years ago and I believe that "Activated' will never really take off as they dream it to. You know, the only real feeding things I liked in the "mailings" were the news compilations in a pub called the "END" and the women's magazine called "EVE", which was also pretty much "system" compilations from the internet. So, when we were finally deciding whether we would really miss the mailings, we came down to the conclusion that we can just get fed from searching ourselves on the internet. The latest GN's have been so full of "spirit helpers" and "the Keys" crap, that it's not really feeding in the least. My husband and I are so so happy to not have to think about "standing up for the F.'s doctrines"... we feel so free just be true to Jesus. We are willing to be persecuted for Him, but not to stand up for all the lies of the F. We were very active witnessing and sad to say we tried to promote F. doctrine because this was what we should do. A person is supposed to give the "meat of the word" not so long after meeting a "sheep". The "meat" is the F.'s new age doctrine and how to apply it in a person's daily life. Sometimes when "hearing from the Lord" in a united meeting, I felt sort of like it was a seance. So now, when I look back at everything, I'm just amazed at how decieved I was. Why didn't I leave sooner... I felt that I was leaving God's best, the elite, the avant guard... that I was backsliding and weak and had a noodle for a backbone. This is subtle coercion and it's real and the Bible is twisted in such a way to make you confused and only rely on the F. I hope God opens more member's eyes and that they are not too proud to confess that they were wrong to believe the F. Thanks for all your imput!
