you know, after rereading my own post, i wasn't sure if I understood what i was trying to say. and after reading your clarification, i was SURE i wasn't! ha!
if i understood you, then you misunderstood me. i don't think i was advocating what you seemed to be rebutting. if someone has been criminally wronged then they are certainly free to pursue whatever course they feel led to pursue. but if folks are not being accused by anyone of criminal actions, but simply suspected of being potentially guilty because of some association w/ some wing of the fam, or in the fam, and a public smear campaign is launched at them personally even when their actions are clearly doing some good, it seems to me not only counterproductive, but wrong. i simply cannot find justification for this in the gospel. i invited replies in an attempt to understand the thinking of some who seem to feel they are acting in obedience to God...open to try and see what part of the teachings of Jesus they base their actions on.
my understanding of peoples positions on issues has evolved w/ time. yet i still cannot understand this.
anyway miguel, thanks for your thoughts. i'm gonna be travelling for awhile. see you in a few weeks.
