I personally believe that sex was used to control the F. I joined to serve Jesus, but it was in the time of "free sex" and I enjoyed it to the full before joining. But I was willing to sacrifice for Jesus. I didn't have my first "date" until 1978, 3 years after I joined. My first date was flirty fishing and boy did I love to "go fishing"! I was single and horny! I loved this new concept of "sex without sin" and it sure hooked me! I didn't come from a religious background in the least, so I had no qualms about it. I felt no concept of sin and to have the "prophet's holy word" on it, then it was smooth sailing for me! Anyway, after so many years using the "sex isn't a sin" doctrine and using "sharing" in the F., because of all the abuse, legal implications, hard feelings, trials and such, it seems that a large majority of the FGA's just got burned out with the whole concept. The "Law of Love" GN's were to teach the younger generation to have responsibility for their sharing. The older generation had learned that and many (especially alot of single sisters) just didn't want to share anymore. The responsibility was overwhelming to them! So, I don't know if you know, but the latest Charter list of ammendments state that there is no longer any quotas for alcolhol. Before, for many years, we could only drink a small amount of alcohol per week and once a month for a "special occasion". So, my theory is that to sort of pacify the older generation and let them feel numb to any conviction that Jesus might be giving them about all the weird New Age doctrines, why not let the "old farts" have their alcohol to pacify their convictions and show them that they really are FREE! Let them get drunk at night so they don't have to be bothered by conscience for all their promiscuity practiced in the past... plus it may loosen their tongues to start "having love-up time with Jesus". It sure sounds sickening... but I do feel it's got some truth. Sex isn't the "forbidden fruit" anymore. But I sincerely believe that Maria and Peter are not hearing from Jesus... I believe they are hearing from strange spirits sent by the devil. They have gone too far and it's only a matter of time before we hear about something new, a new doctrine, because if you give the devil enough rope, he'll hang himself. What do you think?
