I definately agree.
I can relate to what you say about not having a problem at the beginning with the whole sex thing.
But it has been quite a journey of discovery to read what the Bible really has to say about sex outside of marriage.
I was pretty shattered when I discovered that Berg's interpertation of scripture had influence me so much that I was always having to qualify everything I read in the Bible. (in my mind I would think, "well that was just for the early church", "adultry doesn't really mean what it says", "well thats true only if you're not really in the spirit!") It took me about two or three years of just reading the Bible to realise how off I had been in my thinking about the Bible.
I think you pegged it perfectly about the drinking thing. It's pretty sad isn't it?
