Abandoning is not suspending.
Suspension of certainty about previously held beliefs doesn't mean you have to abandon your beliefs, just have to stop judging everything according to your previous understanding that's all. Not too different from learning a language or getting a classical musician to learn play jazz. It won't detract from what you already know, but you have to stop thinking in the old terms in order to truly understand or be fluent in the new way of thinking. You suspend your preconceived ideas in order to immerse yourself in a new world and truly experience it. There is real trust in letting go, and when you dodemons don't run and grab you as long as youre not actively seeking them. The biggest demons are your own.

"also takes a tremendous amount of trust in your higher power. I have learned to walk with serenity in a cloud of unknowing about many things of a spiritual nature."

That was beautiful, anovagrl. Well said, and truly spiritual, not fear fear fear.
