Was and still is not understood by many. These days there is so much more info about it, but still many people see Elizabeth Smart (was that her name?) girl, even as a minor, as a willing participant and view her going with that man as her choice. Regarding the free speech issue, Joseph, I applaud Canada for their law, because where it is prosecuted is where it needs to be. When used as hate inspiring attacks against any group. Especially a group where society has often looked the other way or ignored crimes to that group that have resulted in death. "Torch Song Trilogy" comes to mind. It still happens. Way too often, and oftentimes unpublicised. (That gays are targeted and killed by hateful people influenced by the hateful application of the bible by their pastor, or a prominent leader.)
