Alan, I really don't know what to say but I will try. Firstly it is not a hate crime to call a peodophile disgusting because it is and the law thinks so too. So that argument doesn't make sense.
Secondly, you said 'A guy in Canada has been prosecuted for publishing an advertisment for a Christian seminar on homosexuality, and as a part of that ad, listed some Bible verses which forbid the practice. The ad didn't promote hatred of homosexuals, or promote violence against them.' Of course it does. I'm surprised you can't see that. I could try and come up with all kinds of comparisons but I'm afraid I'm all out of them. Maybe someone else could help.
