Hate crimes and hate speech are a very real problem. But, society has to be careful that these laws don't get warped into eliminating free speech.
For example, the Henson case shows that people who are critical of cults in public may risk being convicted of the hate crime of "interfering with a religion". People who write messages on boards like these should find that a bit unsettling.
