I live in TX, where are you? I am glad you trust this president, I don't. I actually think he is a nice guy, hey! he is from the lone star state. But what I don't trust is his power and that of his advisors. It is not the person but the power in the hands of few which needs to be balanced. Some people didn't like Clinton as much and distrusted him? That is not so strange but it is superficial and those people are not really looking at the source of the problem. They are like bad physicians who deal with the immediate but are not interested in dealing with the problem. I suspect it is not because they are not smart but because they are hoping to re-gain control and then use that very same flawed system to do their own abuse of power. Most americans don't even know the constitution, must less are able to see the potential problems it has, even less the actual problems it has created.
That is what I also find in current ex-family members with respect to The Family. Some cannot separate, maybe because they cannot be separated, the teaching, doctrines, practices prevalent in The Family from what the individuals do.
What motivates us is the ideologies we carry deep inside. Abusers of power will continue to abuse power as along as they keep their ideologies intact. That is why a Family member must leave those ideologies to truly not-be a Family member. It is not enough to stop tithing or stop receiving or reading MO letters.
