My point was more along the lines of how societies have laws against acts or for acts that have to do with the culture of the day. AND society at large should not, imo, in a free country, legislate what a person does or does not do that is natural for them, within reason (that is not criminal). And some laws are antiquated such as laws against homosexuals. Those laws are as wrong as actions of teachers and parents against left-handed people.
On the other hand, slavery was recognized as an "evil" while it was occurring here in the States. Owning people is not freedom.
