I thought you read my "From the jaws of death" posting. If you did, didn't you notice that I said I live in Florida? I live in Central Florida, near Kennedy Space Center.
So, are you a Chicano, or did you just learn Spanish in school? I became fluent during my time in the COG in central and south America. At least that's one thing I didn't throw away when I was cleaning out my own life of the COG baggage.
I agree with you that ex-fam members need to clean out all the toxic garbage from their years in TF. Unfortunately, the rejection of all things COG are often mixed with Christianity, and when they reject the bad stuff, the baby often gets thrown with the bath water.
This explains much of the hostility some ex-fam members show for anything related to Christianity. They were so badly burned by the fam experience, that they want nothing to do with real Christianity.
As for Bush...your mistrust of him or anyone else who has power is understandable. I suspect, however, that much of this mistrust is caused by the extremly biased news media, who are predominantly of the liberal persuasion. The best thing we can do for any president and members of congress, is to pray for them. We are living in perilous times. World-wide terrorism, crazy dictators with nuclear weapons, a struggling economy, etc. Even the best of leaders would be sorely challenged by these events.
