Oh yes, one other point, the leader woman fully intended to kill at gunpoint DiCapprio because she was so desperate to keep the group. It sounds the same as cults breaking the law and feeling justified about it in their delusion.
The beginning showed a "backslider" who committed suicide before giving DiCapprio the map to the beach. He should have heeded the message... hmmm.. this group must not be all it says it is.
