Sometimes first-hand info is erroneous as well. As far as Time magazine or other mainstream news media...they aren't always accurate either, and sometimes they are downright liars. Example:
Remember that star reporter at the New York Times? He was fired after the editors finaly bothered to check the sources cited in some of his articles, and discovered he had been fabricating the news.
I wasn't surprised to learn that the New York Times had a policy of only verifying their reporters' articles once per year!
Just a few weeks ago, CBS Evening News did a report on the home-schooling movement in the U.S., and they called it, "The Dark Side of Home Schooling." You can tell from their inflamatory title that it was a hatchet-job. In this two-part report, CBS all but accused every home-schooling parent of being a child abuser! The report was so biased, that I wondered if the script was written by the NEA, who feel their turf is threatened by the growing trend in home-schooling.
Like someone once said, "Don't believe everything you read, and only half of what you see!"
