Hey, in Charles Manson's trial he was not present at the murders, but was given a death sentence (prior to CA getting rid of the death penalty which commuted his sentence to life)because of his encouragement for others to do it. Of course there is no tangible proof of any blatant physical case of murder where the family is concerned. And very possibly none at all. But there is one case of hired assault where children were forcibly removed from their mother that left the family, according to her first hand account. As you said there is much emotional damage, abuses and neglect that have led to suicides and also deaths of those needing medical assistance. Of course nowadays the family have lawyers to help them dot their i's and cross their t's to keep them from technical prosecution. That and fall guys to go to jail for forging their passports..
Anyway, can you get my e-mail from acheick and write to me?
