Jo, I'm sorry that you seem to be offended by my comment. I try (although I don't always suceed) to be as direct as possible. If I was referring to FGs, I would have said that. There are a number of SGs still in the Family and a smaller number still sucking up the sort of nonsense that Lauren wrote about. They all lack the basic instincts of an animal in danger.
Regarding respect, personally I respect people as individuals, not because they joined the Family or were born into it. There are plenty of exmembers I would not personally care to hang around with regardless of their age, and some whose friendships I cherish.
From a sociological standpoint analysing why certain things happened makes interesting study. From a psychological perspective, understanding the dynamics helps to define the issues we face, but from a personal perspective for me at this point it's about who we are now that matters.
