In regards to your reply about "300 ad" I suggest that you have addressed two different issues. When the books were written is one subject and the other, the one I address, is when and how the bible was put together.
Some of the early writings were included and some were excluded. The events and reasons for this are very fascinating and worthy of research by anyone who wishes to follow the teachings of christianity.
I highly recommend the book called "The gnostic gospels" by Elaine Pagels. Then you'll really want to know more about the early church and the gnostic's belief system which you'll find in the actual gnostic gospels. The best verse of all is in "The gospel according to Mary Magdalene" in which it says that Jesus preferred her above all other disciples and "... often kissed her on the mouth".
