I think both Alan and Eva were stating their views quite directly and plainly, and Alan certainly more bluntly than Eva, but nevertheless he was trying to point out a logical discrepency between what seem to be two mutually-exclusive belief systems.
Alan, I do tend to agree with Ray that given the environment we've come out of, that we need to be as tolerant and respectful as possible. On the other hand, while I can see how your approach aggravated non_christian, still for her/him to then throw a tantrum and call you a motherfucker who should go screw himself is unacceptable.
