Hi Miguel,
Popular Science magazine? :> Bell's work makes it clear that the very nature of the cosmos, is as you say, not necessarily subject to known "laws" of physics, as applied to three dimensional states, and again as you infer, light itself is not a three dimension mater state, .... and I have been given this to tell you, soon shall some of your colleagues establish this 'as fact' finally beyond doubt of even the most chauvinistic among your number. The research done on the "freezing of light in place", (excuse me for moment, ..... LHOL! :D) ahem, sorry, well soon it shall be realized that no such thing occurred, but rather such was a mere appearance, and upon investigation of this, shall physics be revolutionized, set upon it's ear so to speak. Bell shall rejoice at this, and Einstein grin.
In my opinion, much of what passes for science in application, 'is' sadly materialist dogma, and such has been lamented by many notable intellects within the greater field. Please do read The Citadels Of Science, by Robert Anton Wilson, ..... many great scientific minds LOVE that book.
It has been rightly stated, that the scientific method has been subverted, by means of grant funding and publications of data transfer and theory. That is to say, that much is overlooked, relegated wrongly to the fringe and discounted, due to an inherent bias, so unscientific, and one which is toward TECHNOLOGY, and not pure research.
You mention Carl Sagan, who while brilliant, it is my apprehension that he was a technocrat, and not a pure researcher, and one given to great bias himself, such as subverts the methodology. My opinion.
I am not one of those fundies, who for example, denies evolution. I believe it has been amply established through evidence, that evolution is a fact. YET, I can say this does not at all detract from nor contradict at all Genesis and the fact that God created us in His image, and likely far more swiftly than evolution professes. I can also tell you, that the geologic timeline of paleontology and cosmology as well, shall also soon, by minds whom you shall respect, be reprised and dramatically so. Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle again you see. <wink>
Please do not presume me a fool, uninformed, given to fables and myths, nor ever, please, assume me to be lumping in all scientists along with, ....... the more than, less than scientific. Among the minds I have been in company with, I notice a humility and great appreciation for God's work, and a great animated enthusiasm akin to wide eyed childlike wonder, at what God has done.
I bid you well, and thank you for the chuckle.
