that is it exactly. I was talking to someone about my past and they mentioned that sometimes to get through it, it hurts when you relive it or deal with it. But after that one can better move on.
I still suffer from the pain of what I went through. A few years back I was attending church and I told an assitant pastor of my problem and how I still suffer. He gave me the typical pat answer that really hurt even deeper - "well, God can take care of that if you just pray." I wanted to hit him. If I just prayed - buddy, that's what I did for 20 years and I did after I left, why am I still in pain then? Is the problem with me or God? Neither, it's with our understanding of God and the whole process. Apparently, in this case, it takes more than just prayer. You don't tell the holocaust survivors to just get over it, have the victory, smile through your troubles, it doesn't always work that way. Maybe you think that's extreme, but not necessarily considering what some of us went through and for so long. The worst thing is to have your faith destroyed, that hurts very deep.
