There was a testimony a few years ago about the head of the Khmer Rouge torture team in Cambodia. He was responsible for torturing untold thousands of people, often to death. He taught men how to torture. When the war ended, he hid out. Then he became a Christian and began working with relief agencies. Good works.
But his conscience got to him and he realized good works were not enough. He turned himself in to the police and confessed his crimes. He did the right thing as a Christian.
