Before I met TF, I was a young Christian and very fanatical at that. I ran across this tract from some pentecostal religious church. It talked about demon possession and the ways to cast demons out of oneself. I actually believed I must be possessed because of this tract, since I was such a sinner. I actually tried to cast these demons out by chanting what was on this tract. It's all very wrong. It caused me a lot of pain and self destruction because of this stupid mentality. I wasn't demon possessed, I was simply a human being, warts and all. God help us.
I was once a witness to some pentecostals trying to exercise a demon out of this girl I knew. We roomed together and although she was weird, I knew her well enough to know that much of it was just an act. At one point, I got so mad at the people giving her all the attention she wanted, I blurted out - "Gail! Stop that! You know you are just acting and you do not have any demons." At that point, her eyes opened and she looked at me wide eyed like she'd been caught. The silly people surrounding her shushed me and went on with their excorcism. With that she closed her eyes and continued moaning. I left the room in disgust. Sadly, she didn't fool me, but TF later did.
