I don't compare Jesus to Al-Q. I compare the fanaticism of some in seeing only one way to believe-or else. The bible is a book that was put together and written by different authors and then interpreted by many different scholars with many different versions. Jesus doesn't seem to have written anything.
I value the way he was reported to have lived. I think he was a very spiritual person who taught beautiful principles. I think to be Christian is to try and live more like those principles. Can you explain why in the writings in the Bible, Jesus was questioned about his being the Son of God, and he tells people, are you not all gods? The difference being that most people are not so strong to live to the high standards that he did. The ones that have, the Catholics call them saints. I admire the saints and Jesus as people that were inspirational, and still are.
I don't believe that inspiration is only in people that are "Christian" though.
I remember being in the family and sent out pregnant with a toddler in tow and it was raining and I was supposed to raise funds to get to my litnessing destination. I got so discouraged and overwhelmed because people were rushing on and off the trains trying not to get wet and I knew that I had this huge quota. I was so tired I sat down and started crying. Two "communists" who were "atheists" were out collecting for their org. and they came up and gave me the money for the train and were really nice, wanting nothing in return. They were very "Christlike" and spiritual "atheists".
