Matt, I think of your story in the family and realize that most people in the family did not experience anything like you did. It makes sense then that the effects of having such incredible losses and then being so severely dealt with would have broken you down more than most. All that means is that maybe it takes more time for you to heal. Nothing wrong with that other than that what occurred to you should never have happened in the context of the family leadership's response to you. It was calloused and cold and the opposite of anything that Christianity stands for. The letter, like letters today that are used to supposedly speak from the dead for deceased ex members, are tools used to promote control by fear in the family. Even the bible says that God does not give us the spirit of fear. But the family sure did, so it was NOT of GOD. Maybe the guilt you feel is based in that fear? If so, I hope you continue to get relief from it, because the family is the one that was WAY OFF TRACK, not you. YOU survived the train wreck, but with multiple injuries that need care and time to heal. TAKE care. keep on 'going on'
:)
