One thing I really liked about the poem was its mention of the Great Spirit. That is how I choose to view what others call "God". I think it is important to realize that everyone that posts here is not necessarily Christian and no one likes to have their faith belittled though I realize you may feel that differing forms of spirituality are not of "God".
Here is part of an Indian prayer which I find to be very beautiful:
"Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the wind, whose breath gives life to the world...may I walk in beauty"
It is not unusual for people leaving the family, especially SG, to identify themselves as agnostic, atheist, or to search out other spiritual paths because of all the damage done in the name of Jesus. I don't believe they are lost in doing so. That's just how I feel about it.
