Wow, your dilemna is really interesting. I don't know whether to call myself a Christian or not, but I know that I think like one about 90% of the time because I have never quit trying to live out the teachings of Jesus as I understand them. I have a problem with some of the teachings ABOUT Jesus and the meaning of his life, death & resurrection, but not so big of a problem that I can honestly say I deny his Spirit. Funny thing about Spirit--S/He doesn't ever go away or move by any other name.

I felt like you did about sticking with Journeys as an ecumenical space, but the Foundations board is a little more and different than discussion & debate. It's also about Christian prayer, support & empowerment--more about heart than head, the way I see it.

Because the Sermon on the Mount is more or less the foundation of what my life's work is about, I can't easily separate spirituality, religion, social justice & politics into neat categories. However, if I choose to contribute to Foundations, it wouldn't be a place where I brought up peace & justice issues. But maybe that's because peace & justice isn't something I feel confused about.
