Yaps! I have studied physics (and have a degree to prove it :) and one quote from my major professor says that mathematicians can understand physics better than mathematiciasn but physicists can only understand a small part of mathematics.
There are some easy to follow summaries of Goedel's "proof of God" around, also known as the "incompletness" theorem because he showed that no matter how many rules a system has, they will be incomplete in the sense that they cannot explain or cover everything. There will always be unexplainable, or uncovered, areas (more accurately, spaces). Its relation to God is that in order to make one system's rules cover parts of those uncovered areas, some more rules must be added. The problem is that by doing so the new system automaticaly creates new uncovered spaces ...all the way to infinity.
And so, only God can provide full coverage.
And so God turns out to be the best insurance we can get.
