personally, i find this an extreme reaction. how can one reject jn 3:16 for example? there are many aspects of fam beliefs that are pretty orthodox, and i for one accept that many of my spiritual experiences w/ the voice of God were genuine, and helpful. of course many were not, and moreso as time went on.

but, if completely rejecting one's entire relationship w/ God is made prerequisite to going on with the lord, than doesn't that not only alienate folks such as those you mention, but also risk discarding a lot of valuable human experience? altho it may be more challenging to try and sift thru our past and seperate truth from error, i personally believe it is truer to reality.

others may disagree. but i do not think it is a cult hangover to recognize that the omnipresent God was with us "thru it all" as the old song goes.to say that db had the power to completely break all the contact between God and a heart, regardless of how imperfectly, sincerely and desperately sought to connect w/ him thru the blood of jesus, geez, that is giving db WAY more power than i wish to.imo.
