I'm with Charlie, Farmer, and Ray. It's quite true that it takes MORE effort and soul searching to go through my 23 years in the Family to sort out what was good and what was not, than it would to just do a blanket condemnation. I also refuse to do a blanket condemnation of everyone in the Family, past OR present... I have a genuine love and respect for too many of the people I shared the good and bad times with during those 23 years.
I also, personally, find it more healing to discuss the good and positive than to harp on the negative. This does not in any way mean I do not acknowledge the negative, and eschew it, but (here's one of those good things I retained from the Family) over the years I memorized many good Bible verses about positive thinking which I still believe. It's just plain healthy, both to believe the Bible and to be positive.
