talking to you is a delightful experience. So constructive and solid.
Going back to the original issue of how important it is to ask about Berg's Christianity, then even if he had some Christian-based ideas the end result was what we can see now. In other words, it can be seen as a great warning to others that not all who claims "master master" is a servant indeed. This is somewhat of a revelation, that some people in TF may have been apostates even as they delivered a mediocre sermon to the faithful.
Granted, some were honestly deceived even as they abused their position of power. DB was one of the abusers but I doubt that he was deceived at any point, if he was it deceived by his own machinations and delusions. He knew what he was doing all the time. The most I am willing to conceed is that he may have been lucid at times and under Godly influence as much as Balaam's ass was. His nature was that of an ass, as he described himself and explained in so many episodes throughout his writings.
The initial leadership, who knew the word as much as he did, or more, tried to keep him under control but he managed to slowly with gifts corrupt their views. Those who didn't yield were eventually dismissed. New waves came in of people who knew teh Word less and less and the rest is history. He took control of every spiritual aspect as much as he had taken control of all physical aspects of their/our life.
Some of us left, other continue enjoying the pleasures of sin until the alarm went off and they had to wake up. For some that alarm hadn't gone off yet and others just simply rolled around and wrapping themselves in their ill unreal power continue sleeping.
Thank you for the conversation on the importance of knowing the pitiful spiritual condition of David Berg.
