The book "Corporate Cults" explored how every day organizations and companies can become cults.
The thing they said was that if *anything* in your life takes the place of your family, your job and your social life then you are probably in a cult.
This can be your job, your church, a friendship... anything.
Examples:
1. A guy moves his family up into a shed on the top of a mountain and grows vegitables and shoots rabbits for dinner. Cult.
2. You go to work for a company that wants to cook all of your meals so you can eat at your desk, gives you a place to sleep (if you get too tired to go home), requires you to play on the company softball team on weekens, etc... Cult.
The book contends that normal healthy people have those three areas in their life separate:
1. Family
2. Job
3. Recreation
If they all three become the same thing. Watch out.
