PD I can understand you & sympathise with you to some extent, also having been heavily into yoga,
Buddhism, all kinds of esoteric stuff prior to joining TF.If fire hurts, the natural reaction is to withdraw yourself, to run the opposite direction.
However, you sooner or later have to answer yourself the question (get it answered) whether you have a spirit (you spoke of soothing your soul),even whether there's a "helpful", wellminded creational spirit...in Buddhism you're pretty much left on your own (in Mayahana?..ehem...30 years back I used that word...you have e.g. the help of fellowbuddhists)...I consider much of my spiritual
path a trial & error-period, even TF was an error-
period, due to much false interpretations, however not 100% false (the percentage of right teachings would be hard to give)...the error-part seems more reduced than ever before...for which I am thankful
(Result: peace of mind, good conscience, far better than in TF)
