To your problems of dropping out in the right direction I can relate...we stopped tithing in 92...last home I was in was 89...in many ways the "s.it" hit the fan after leaving TF, but we were happier for earning the funds in an honest way...later came a tearful split up from my mate, but blessing in disguise, my mate lived in divorce from her first mate & I care all the more now to have any adultery & fornication problem solved...
TF didn't care about those issued, they handled things "in love" (not)...
One strength for me besides much prayer, was to read about people who got it right in their following Christ & me understanding better, how TF loused things up...so I learned by failure, the hard way, but I am learning...better than being sound asleep.Of course learning a job etc. wasn't a bed of roses, but now I don't have to lie/deceive & pretend anymore, collecting funds, which became such a boring routine...a job.
