As was your experience of God's supply after leaving, so was ours. And so it is today as well. He DID NOT/DOES NOT fail us. How wonderful!
I'm not convinced that it takes as long to "get out" as it took to "be in," although taking a long time may apply to some folks. My research (and my personal experience) shows me that once an addiction, whether it be drugs, alcohol, annoexia, buliemia, or, as was the case with us, an abusive religious system etc., is broken and the denials dashed, it takes, on average, a year and half to pick up the pieces while we get busy living again.
