The ones who had it hardest in regards to really knowing the Bible were the local disciples, esp. those who were not raised in a Christian atmosphere. At least in the western countries there was some knowledge of the basics of Christiantiy, but disciples from Japan, China, India, .... they had not former basis for Christianity, the only form they knew was the Family's form.
People who joined as Christians or at least somewhat exposed previously to Christianity had some reference point from the past, those who joined as previous Buddhists, Hindus, athiests, ... had no other reference point for Christianity, making them particularly vulnerable to total deception through the cult's Christianity.
