I agree with Rocky too. I look back at my past and would rather not have had part of it be in the Family at all. But I think that part of what happens when people get out after investing decades of their life in something like that is a need to utilize anything from the experience that could be channelled for good.
One thing about me that being in the family helped with was that I was able to work with severely abused children and families and not get swallowed up by their trauma. However, I cared deeply and was good at my trade.
Does that mean that it was good that I went thru being in the Family to have that ability? Well, no. But it does mean that every aspect of my life while in was not wasted or can't have any value whatsoever in spite of the family.
