Well said Nina!
Each one of us is indeed like a fingerprint, and so are our Journeys.
Unlike you, I was happy as a child and therefore have all of that to compare to. A question I ask myself: "Who were you in TF for? Yourself, Berg, or Jesus?" If you were in TF strictly for the purpose of growing in relationship with Jesus, there is undoubtedly much good baggage you carried around. As in the story I shared about being on a Mediterranean Island; hitch-hiking on the side of the road with so many cases of fruit & veggies that I could only accept rides from dump trucks, and yet God got me home in a timely manner (I had the food for dinner for 50.)
If instead you focused on your position in the organization...you were immersed in all the tripe from the wierd doctrines to the over-emphasis on security (paranoia & fear) which finally got many "homes" busted.
So it seems that God both blessed and cursed various events in the family...what do you say to the soul who tells you they have eternal peace from a relationship with Jesus borne out of the antics of some crazy missionary attached to the COG?
