I found that to be a great read. Certainly there is no Utopia on earth where power positions come into play. But I find it sad that people thing that to be agnostic or atheist means a person has no ethics, or poor ethical standards at best.
The same insanity that drove Mao, drove the puritans in the witch burning days of Salem.
Some of the greatest people in history with the most profound positive effects were not Christian. And some of them are.
I just don't see the need to paint agnostics/atheists into a corner of unethical people or losers who don't have God.
Maybe that is not what you mean. But it is how it is coming across to me when I read what you are writing about atheists.
Even in "Wild Swans" it was clear that there were communists that were ethical and caught in the cult atmosphere often to their great peril via humiliations and purgings.
Mao was so much like a destructive cult leader. Again, I found the book a fascinating read.
