Glad to hear how you got out & if that doesn't absolutely beat everything: basket-weaving for 22 years & earning a good living at it! My guess is you didn't keep weaving coconut palm leaves in Wisconson.
So what kind of welding to you do? Did you ever think of creating wild sculptures out of welded metal pieces? Just think of it as weaving with iron. Since you don't like the factory-type stuff but like creative artsy stuff you might want to try it. I've seen a documentary on a guy who did that.
