You seem to have concluded that he is not thinking about leaving. Just because JS may not have actually said he was thinking about leaving doesn't mean he isn't thinking that. Many people posting here, including myself, have talked about the slow awakening to reality, sometimes after several years of lingering doubts and questions, which is why I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Some of the things he said reminded me of myself prior to leaving TF.
Personally, I didn't think having confrontations with him would work, but I also recognize the value of such confrontations, as Acheick related in one of her posts about how her brother confronted her. I was also thinking how rare it is for an admitted current member to be posting here, so I was hoping that we could keep him around a while as a window into current cult thinking. As it turned out, I think there were some pretty revealing posts that resulted from JS posting here, such as those by recent departees. On the otherhand, I recognize that his presence had a triggering effect on some people so I really have mixed feelings about all this.
Btw, just to be clear, I don't think there is a wrong or right way, within the rules, to respond to JS here, or that one response is better than another. The regular users of this site are who we are and we will all legitimately react to things in our own way. If JS learns anything from his encounters here, it should be that there is no such thing as the "anti-cult movement". After all, trying to get us all here to agree on any one thing is like trying to herd cats. And that's a good thing.
