Sure this is the goal to get the true meaning of the scripture...but since the disciples didn't always get HIM, what HE meant...nor the Jews in the OT what prophets said, unless they thoroughly explained it, I feel comfortable enough, when I don't get some very deep subjects of the book straight: as you probably know, there is a wider range of how to interpret the perfect in 1.Kor. 13: 10...for some teleios can only be Jesus...HE HImself. When HE returns, we don't need the other mentioned gifts anymore...for others yet it's the Word, the completion of the Bible and Christians of that fraction don't like anyone who gets into tongues & prophetic speech...

or "this is my body"....Luther vehemently defended that, having it written with chalk on a table, when he confered with others (from Switzerland &
mediators between the various fractions):hoc est corpus...pretty difficult to make it just something spiritual only & so on....

No to talk about Romans 9 and it's difficulty...or how it's quite a cornerstone in Calvinistic thinking....take Isaiah 53 & how
many Jews of today still read that & interpret it.

As you have n Christian denominations in the world, you have m divers Bibleschools & colleges
with m being not so much smaller than n ....

Since repentance is the major "position/attitude" our heart & mind should have in coming to Jesus...something TF stressed IMO not enough, but didn't neglect altogether from my experience, I don't see the need, to shift altogether in interpreting Rev. 3:20 anew...Berg is really not the only one who
reads it like that...take The Bible Knowledge
Commentary of Walvoord & Zuck (Dallas Theological
Seminary)...just one out of many...

it's also in line with the following verses:

17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;
19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.

Wish you God's blessings in all your studies!!

P.S. Christ can only dwell in our hearts...if we let HIM in!?!
