When finished I may possibly post my paper on the academic board it is due in one week. What I have learned about St. Francis wasn't learned at my college, but in a number of books and religous journals. The assignment we had was to do a paper on a champion of the faith from sometime out of the history of the church and from out of one of our required readings Devotional Classics by Richard Foster. Out of the many to choose from since I had some "prior knowledge" of Francis I chose him. The result was that I did not have prior knowledge but prior ignorance. IMO prior ignorance comes from being assocuated with a cult for almost 30 years and begining my college education at the age of 51. I will have to agree with Farmer that much of what I am being taught in college is supreme knowledge as the basis is God's word and application of it. It could possibly be a self-healing purpose to repeat how stupid TF was and is. More than that though it is a deep rooted thankfulness for what God delivered me from a very short time ago.
