Zither:

All I said was that the original religious documents of that particular religion, Islam, as all other religions should, including the bastardized sub-christianity of TF, be examined by letting their original documents to speak for themselves--Suras 5, 9, and 11 in the Koran irrefutably make my point for me; individuals' reactions to that do not change what the Quran actually says.

Trust, even on a world-wide scale, is always earned. TF, Mormonism, and Islam, to name just a few belief systems, have not earned a document-based trust, and cannot; true Bible-based Christianity can, and it stands alone in its overabundant wealth of document evidence.

Whatever one chooses to believe, this is true about the historical/archeological evidence of several religions.

Wishing hard evidence away does not change this historical fact.

Their are a lot of wonderful and true things to discover about the real world, upon leaving TF--I have experienced this myself. "Learning how to learn" is one of them.

I have seen a lot of belief systems be unable to prove their main theses when critical thinking is applied to them. I have seen all I closely examined fall apart BECAUSE of their basic tenets, EXCEPT true Bible-based Christianity 1st through 3rd Century orthodoxy, and that includes TF sub-christianity.

That was the first idol I saw smashed after my exit. They all have clay feet, and are all "high thoughts and vain imaginations [which] exalt themselves against the knowledge of God"; I have observed--over 31+ years of deep study and prayer on my part.

I had to acquire, first, a willingness to be wrong, then an EXACT definition of the true scientific method, then a full understanding of the philosophy of logic, and then an insistence upon being "fully persuaded in MY OWN MIND"; as the Bible says we should.

Wishful thinking about the true nature of religions, without a critical approach to the study of each's original manuscripts, where the manuscripts are allowed to speak for themselves, Zither, is not clear thining, and, if you apply it to TF, as we must, especially here, you must apply the same logical screen to other belief systems, including ACTUAL Islam.

Otherwise, your thinking is not consistent, and is merely wishful on your part.

Take care!

Sincerely,
OT2 (OldtimerToo)
