Seriously, I posted it before you psoted this, and it is applicable to what you say, here.
While I certainly sympathize with having things drilled into [your head] in TF, please remember you're not the only one with that experience.
No one here beleives that you are "nothing" in comparison to THEM. However, to be fair, you must allow others to believe that about comparing ANY mere human being with God--otherwise, you are mocking and attacking their faith, and that shouldn't happen, here.
I understand your need for safety. I have found that God IS safe--certainly there are conditions. If every person could make up only the characteristics of the god they APPROVED of--well, you see the problem--that's what Berg did, and I shouldn't, and you shouldn't; wishful thinking notwithstanding! That would make YOU god; would it not?
Zither--leaving "magical thinking" behind is required, ti get the cult out of US, after we take ourelves out of the cult. Reasonableness is REQUIRED.
Christianity NEVER contained Berg, as well as the fact that Berg NEVER contained Christianity. That MUST be the first thing learned, here; or you're stuck with Berg-think/cult-think/groupthink (here, or ANYWHERE!).
Please don't see this board as a popularity contest for exers; to my understanding, it is not.
I'll gladly discuss Islam with anyone here; I do have some harsh things to sday about it as a belief system; yes, and those facts cannot be wished away in the name of "unity" of some sort.
Haven't you ever heard the saying that" If you're not willing to stand for something, then you'll fall for ANYTHING"? Well, it's like that; like it or not.
To me, the PERSONS who come here are all welcome, any religious, or irreligious, stupidity is not; IMO.

By the way, you were, inferentially, quite insulting to Christians, here, regardless of your claiming not to "knock Christianity at all".
I'd oppose promotion of the BELIEF, here, of, say, for instance, Scientology, Sun Myung Moon's BS, Wicca and "hard" Satanism/demonology, and so forth, or, equally, science or logic badly done, in a way that no reasonable person could agree with.
As far as I know, the basic tenet here is NOT the forced "homogenization" of absolutely every belief system in the world; logically based or not.
That doesn't even come UP to the level of foolish.
That would qualify as just plain STUPID, regardless of who was promoting it; see what I mean?
I'm not calling YOU stupid. That ACTION, and the expectation associated with it that I described, would be stupid.
