People can do all kinds of crazy things in the name of their religion but it doesn't make the religion bad. I am glad that people are seeking more progressive society vs. repressive ones where women and children are chattel.
I worry too that the world is in a state that is scarier than the cold war and reminds me of a Twilight Zone story which was futuristic.
In the story this wealthy American tourist is in a hotel in South America when he has a rude awakening. Many countries have nukes (at the time of the story only Russia and America had them) and one was fired setting off a chain reaction. The result was that the super powers ceased to rule and the man was now a refugee who was unwanted.
I don't know what the future holds but the fact that there is an ability for dirty bombs or nuclear devices to be made and deployed or that shaky world relations and nukes in the hands of people that believe God is on their side is disturbing at best.
I guess I just want to enjoy my life as much as possible with the people I love.
