Yes, I agree we're all mixed bags full of contrary values. I identify with your hatred to sugar and love of twinkies. I also think there are a lot of sincere Christians in every culture, western or eastern, people who have some very laughable habits or frame of thinking, but who really embody the most basic Christian values. I guess the rest is all mayonnaise on the hamburger.
You're right that that "neglect not gathering together" verse is only in Hebrews, but I notice the book of Acts talks a lot about believers getting together to study and pray and all the things Christians these days do in churches. So whether it's 2+2=4 or 1+3=4 it pretty much adds up the same. But there's no saying you can't choose between a small group or a house church and a larger, regular church. I think the Sunday-meeting thing was from the beginning, but where you do it and how you do it's up to you.
