I've asked hard questions, too, dug down deep, and ended up throwing out alot of the church junk. I've thrown out so much of it, in fact, that I question whether I still have a right to say I follow Jesus. I don't believe I can undo my baptism (by water and by spirit), so that is the birthright by which I make my claim. What I've settled on is that I'm not a very good Christian if "good" is measured by the degree of orthodoxy to which one adheres.
Questioning your faith and finding answers that work in the here-and-now of everyday life is really hard work, imo. I've had to learn how to be comfortable with not having answers to many of my questions.
