Since Pokemon was banned by the Family and I have liberated myself, I would have to say that no, they aren't diabolical. But that's a biased viewpoint.

Pokemon actually holds many good morals in it, mixed with magic powers and all that. It doesn't seem to me to be so much different from the Justice League or Power Puff Girls, all runs along the same theme of good vs. bad and etc.

My kids have some cards, some of the GBA games, some manga and some anime, and I haven't seen any weird side effects in them. But then again, I no longer judge things from the viewpoint of Christianity, but simply what is morally and physically healthy. I do not for example allow my kids to watch 'Kureyon-shin-chan' about a kid who moons off to his teachers and parents, is sassy and talks back all the time, the opposite morals that I try to instill in my kids. Neither do they watch the popular Sailor Moon cause I personally don't agree with its morals. I wouldn't let them watch Beavis and Butt Head (does that even play still?) or South Park.

I think it should be judged more on the morals that it instills in kids rather than get into all this spiritual hocus pocus. That's just my 2cents.
