What I remember the most about the prophet bus is the gourmet food and stellar accomodations.
In the tightest yoga position I do not think I was tangled up and squished as much as I was on a "prophet bus". And we slept on that bus all huddled together in the stifling summer weather with windows shut having to be silent because we were parked next to a university campus and no one was to find out that we were sleeping on it. That was torture and the food was usually the slop, stale or outdated provisioned or dumpster dive delight. Like the stale jelly donuts and some sort of blueberry flavored cream stuff. And a serving of beans and rice or spaghetti if we were lucky.
Then there was the hygiene issue. First of all, in them thar days, at home before getting on the bus it was not unusual to bathe out of a cup or water or small basin and then shower once a week, timed of course. Did we have soap? I don't remember. I can't remember now how and where we went to the bathroom while out on a bus trip. I know there wasn't one on the bus.
